Highway 230 Road Conditions - 8/30
This highway exists solely to be a shortcut. A connector. There are NO services anywhere along its 25 mile length. Be aware of that in the winter especially. It also is infrequently patrolled by law enforcement, unless there is a major snowstorm ongoing.
MULTIPLE TRAVEL ALERTS!!!
Expect to encounter fire fighters, and fire fighting vehicles and equipment along the road from mile post 13 to the Highway 238 junction.
Highway 230's surface is very degraded due to weather impacts from mile post 12 to the Highway 138 junction. Be prepared for a very rough ride.
In addition, there are multiple hazard trees overhanging the highway from the Rogue River to the top of the grade going up from the river on the south side. These trees are going to fall. It is just a matter of time. Use caution in that area.
