THE HIGHWAY 62 EXPRESSWAY/BYPASS FROM MEDFORD TO WHITE CITY IS NOW OPEN
The Highway 62 Expressway is now open between Medford and White City. There are issues to let you know about. The Expressway is just that. Once you are on it there is no getting off it if you did not mean to get on it. On the north end in White City the risk of getting on it accidentally is low. However, in Medford going northbound, you do need to pay attention. If you are meaning to head to the shopping areas around Delta Waters and Old Highway 62 you need to be in the right hand lanes until you get to Lava Lanes. If you are in the left lane, that takes you right onto the Expressway now. Be mindful of that. If you get on the Expressway by accident, you are on it until White City and then you would have to back track back down Old Highway 62.
During the afternoon/evening commute traffic is backlogging at the north end of the Expressway and on Old 62 from the Highway 140 junction to the Expressway. This is the result of stop light timing not being worked out yet. This will be addressed. For the evening commute it is suggested to use Table Rock Road as an alternate route to avoid this area until such time as the timing issue is resolved.
